Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, October 26th, 2011 – Solar Outpost completed commissioning Tuesday, October 25th 2011 on a 72 kW solar array located in central Saskatchewan.

Engineered and installed by Solar Outpost, this array has an expected life of over 30 years. The collection of more than 300 individual solar photovoltaic (PV) panels will be able produce approximately 104,400 kWh per year, providing power savings in excess of $11,000 per year. Coupled with the 35% rebate from the Net Metering Program and generous capital cost allowances from the federal government for green energies, the system shows a great rate of return and a payback period of under ten years.

Saskatchewan consumers are searching for alternatives to the ever increasing cost of energy. Solar Outpost allows customers to choose from a broad range of solutions from solar PV panels, and wind turbines, to geothermal systems and solar hot water heating.

ABOUT SOLAR OUTPOST INC – Solar Outpost Inc is a locally owned and operated renewable energy company. Dedicated to public education and the promotion of environmentally conscious living, our team of engineers, sales people and installers work to bring our customers the best solutions for their individual energy needs. Showcasing the newest in renewable energy developments and offering sustainable technology for residential and commercial heating and power generation, we can help to decrease your environmental footprint by increasing the efficiency of your household or business.

Hydronic heating and cooling systems have long set the industry standard for comfort and flexibility. Whether the application includes radiant heating, forced-air fan-coil units, domestic hot-water heating or process heating/cooling loads, the Premium EW can fit every application, from simple to complex. Sophisticated microprocessor controls and state-of-the-art components ensure many years of virtually maintenance-free operation. The Premium EW also can supply hot water for pools, spas and ice-melt under sidewalks.

Because it doesn’t burn fossil fuels, the Premium EW emits no harmful greenhouse gases, which are associated with global warming. No flames. No fumes. No odors. No danger from carbon monoxide. The GeoSmart Energy EW is the best in the business.

When considering a heat source for your pool, you only have to look up to realize the primary benefit of solar heat – it’s free heat from the sun! With uncertainty and rising costs in the gas and power markets, the price for solar will not change. It will be free for life. Using your existing pump and filter, our easy to install solar pool heater ensures warmer pool temperatures, no monthly heating bills and is proven to be the most cost effective way to heat your pool. Get the most out of your pool by extending the swimming season and have more fun- courtesy of the sun!

Over a 15-year period, you could spend five times or more on heating with gas what you would spend on installing a solar heater today. Once your solar heating system is installed, there are no more heating bills to pay.

Many pool owners switch to solar because it meets all of their heating needs. But, even if you continue to use a gas or electric heater as a backup, solar heating is a smart investment that will save you money, year after year.

A properly sized solar heating system will get you swimming earlier in the spring and later into the fall. Whether or not you have an existing heater, you can keep your pool warmer and open longer with free energy from the sun. In most areas of Canada, a solar heater used in combination with a solar pool cover can add two to four weeks to the beginning and two to four weeks to the end of the swimming season.
